What Came First — The Chicken or the Egg?

Sometimes I like to sit back and take a look at what the hell is going on around me. On same days, it makes me giggle. Other days, it makes me cry. Many days, like today, it makes me wonder what the heck is wrong with some people.

Today my dear husband tried explaining to me that his borderline personality disorder was caused by being married to his ex-wife for seven years. Now, you all know how much I hate that woman, but that even made me giggle just a bit. I mean, she’s definitely a bitch but did she really cause his BPD? I don’t think so. It was either genetic or it was caused by the hell he went through in his childhood.

What’s so funny though? Why am I giggling over this? Because SHE blames HER emotional problems on HIM. Yes, HE is the reason for her need for antidepressants, according to her anyway. Of course it couldn’t have anything to do with the fact that she grew up in a household with almost no morals. No, of course not.

Honestly, the whole finger-pointing thing is immature beyond belief. If someone has a mental condition, the focus should be on what can be done about it, not what caused it. I, for one, am still taking it day by day trying to provide my step-children with the type of life they deserve and getting them the help they need. In the meantime, I’ll try not to give myself brain damage by hitting my head against the brick wall…
